Companies are using social media advertising via commercials, radio, billboards, websites, and even on our cell phones and other mobile devices these days. At the bottom of hundreds of web pages, we find Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr logos. We are encouraged to subscribe to blogs, become fans, friends, share, and interact in a variety of ways, but how is this social networking genuinely benefitting us, and are the businesses that use these platforms getting concrete results? Because the number of different types of social media management sites and the many benefits and drawbacks of utilizing them might be confusing, we’ve decided to focus on a handful that we feel are the most beneficial and highlight some of their pros and negatives from a business standpoint.
