Folks, by now some of you have heard about the “Democracy Files,” the recordings DataRepublican has been releasing on X. If the tapes show what they appear to, former officials discussed “redlines” for when the federal government should be called “illegitimate.” The recordings haven’t been independently verified yet, and the people named deserve a chance to respond. But the idea itself runs against everything I swore an oath to. Under the Constitution, voters decide elections, not committees. I posted a plain-English briefing on the homepage. What’s your read on this, and does it change how you’re thinking about November 3?
